On August 23, the national medical education project "Clinical use of orthokeratology lenses and special contact lenses" and IAOA Basic Training School hosted by the School of Ophthalmology & Optometry and the Affiliated Eye Hospital, Wenzhou Medical University and the International Academy of Orthokeratology Asia (IAOA) were held at Kangqiao Clinic of Ophthalmology and Optometry, Dalian.

Orthokeratology lenses belong to the Class 3 medical devices in China and require specialized training for ophthalmologists. Currently, the most recognized training organization in China is the IAOA.
Five famous ophthalmologists delivered lectures on orthokeratology and myopia prevention.
