We export fresh fish to North America every week from Toyosu.

Among them, this time I visited a customer in Chicago to expand sales.

The flight time is about 12 hours to Chicago.　There is also a -14 hour time difference between Japan and Chicago, so a flight departing in the morning in Japan will arrive in Chicago in the morning of the same day.

After arriving in Chicago, we visited an importer with whom we have been in regular communication.　I was surprised to find that the warehouse was much larger than I had imagined, handling a variety of Japanese food items.　

After that, I visited the customer's store to conduct sales activities.

It was lunch time and there were many Japanese customers in the store, giving the impression that it was busy.

The lunch set I ordered was very tasty, just as I am used to eating in Japan, and the wide variety of Japanese food on the menu made me understand why Japanese customers come to the restaurant.

We were able to talk directly with a Japanese chef who uses our fresh fish and learn what kind of fish and price range he is looking for, which will be useful for future sales activities.　 Even within Chicago, the price settings of stores vary greatly between the city center and the outskirts, so we felt that it was necessary to conduct sales activities that were tailored to customer needs.

This photo was taken when we pledged to expand future Chicago sales under Lake Michigan, the fifth largest lake in the world and the Trump Tower, as seen from the hotel.

During this business trip, I saw our cargo shipped from Toyosu, Japan, reaching our customers, and I was inspired to deliver fresher and better-quality products.

We will continue to devote ourselves to seasonal fresh fish and customer satisfaction.
