We went on a business trip to Guam!
We went on a business trip to a customer that will open in Guam this April! The purpose of the trip was to check on the status of the arrival of fresh fish and processed seafood products shipped from Toyosu market for the first time, and to support the opening of the store.
We were able to fly business class because my ticket happened to be purchased at a discount.
It was still chilly in Japan, so I left with my jacket on, but when I got out of the airport, it was as hot as August in Japan, and I quickly changed into short sleeves! ((+_+))
After meeting with the customer, we went to investigate what products were available at the local supermarket.
The fish sold were similar to those rarely seen in Japan and a little like those in Okinawa's fish, with many brightly colored fish.
Tuna and salmon occupied about half of the fish section, and I got the impression that these two items are very popular in Guam. (#^.^#)
The hotel was close to the airport and had a great view!
There is a beach right in front of the hotel and we got up early in the morning to go for a walk.
In the evening, we had dinner with our suppliers at a local izakaya.
We were surprised to see fried fish, which was made from whole fish. It was probably the same colorful fish I had seen in supermarkets. The ramen was a spicy pork bone ramen arranged in a Guam style. (^^♪
During the overcrowded schedule of five days and four nights, we were also able to experience the local food culture. Perhaps because they are surrounded by the sea like Japan, their food was similar in some aspects.
It was encouraging to see with my own eyes that the products we pack daily actually reach the local market. We will continue to do our best to apply what we gained from this business trip to my work.
